Roger Foley is a Canadian artist, disability advocate, entrepreneur, former television host, and former professional wrestler who has spent more than a decade fighting to return home and regain independent living through self-managed attendant services by way of direct funding home care.
Roger lives with Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type-14 (SCA14), a progressive neurodegenerative disease that has severely impacted his mobility, coordination, speech, and independence. Despite these challenges, Roger has continued to build creative projects, advocacy initiatives, and fundraising campaigns focused on restoring dignity, independence, and community living for people with disabilities.
Before his health dramatically declined, Roger worked in business and technology, including serving as a National E-Business Manager with the Royal Bank of Canada. He later became known for his work in disability advocacy and public awareness, including founding the Canadian Ataxia Conference to help bring together researchers, advocates, families, and people living with ataxia.
Roger has also worked in entertainment and media throughout his life. He performed as a professional wrestler and television host, and later expanded into music, branding, digital media, and creative projects focused on disability awareness and resilience. His music and artistic work include projects such as Limitless With Limitations, which reflects his determination to continue creating despite overwhelming physical barriers.
In recognition of his advocacy and volunteer work, Roger was honoured as one of Canada’s Top 50 Volunteers through the Prime Minister’s Volunteer Awards in 2013.
Hockey Game Brew was created as part of Roger’s broader vision to combine hockey culture, entertainment, warm drinks, comfort food, collectibles, humour, and community into one game-day experience. More than just a beverage brand, Hockey Game Brew represents perseverance, creativity, and the idea that even during difficult circumstances, people can still come together around sports, storytelling, laughter, and shared experiences.
Life Care Network Inc. supports Roger’s mission and works alongside him in helping develop many of the products, brands, entertainment ventures, and fundraising initiatives connected to Hockey Game Brew and related projects. The goal is not only to help raise funds for Roger’s independent home-care needs and return to community living, but also to help build awareness and future support opportunities for seniors and persons living with severe disabilities who require dignified, individualized care and community support.
Through Hockey Game Brew, music, merchandise, entertainment content, and related ventures, Roger continues working toward his goal of returning home, rebuilding independence, and showing that creativity, humour, resilience, and community can still thrive even in the face of enormous challenges.
